Council decides to back Morval planning application

MORVAL Parish Council has voiced its support for a planning application to demolish an existing building at Wringworthy Farm and replace it with a new house.

The applicants, Mike and Kim Spencer, of Wringworthy House, told councillors at their January meeting that they already had permission to build a home on the site of an old barn at Wringworthy Farm, granted under the Class Q regulations (a type of planning consent, introduced in 2015, that allows people to convert agricultural buildings into residential dwellings).

“But we wanted to build something slightly smaller so we have had to submit a planning application to achieve this,” explained Mrs Spencer.

“Our aim is to make this our forever home for us and our family, so that we never have to leave this parish.

“It will be super insulated with underfloor heating, solar panels and the like and will be as sustainable as possible.”

Two former parish council chairmen praised the Spencers’ proposals. Cllr Clive Pearn described the plan as ‘very good’ and Cllr Stuart Hutchins called it as an application of calibre and distinction. “It looks lovely,” he said.

The Parish Council voted unanimously to support the application which will now be decided by Cornwall Planners.
