Forest for Cornwall
With
more than 1.6 million trees in the ground, we're now aiming for the
next milestone of 2 million trees. Looking ahead over the next few months
this goal is in sight!
In farmer and landholder projects there are over 500 hectares of planting
planned through us and funded by the Defra Nature for Climate Fund. This
includes over 130 hectares of woodland creation, 265 hectares of agroforestry,
70 new orchards, and more than 30km of new hedgerows. This equates to
nearly 315,000 trees in farmer and landholder projects alone.
There are also multiple community planting projects taking place in many areas,
including street trees, park planting, orchards and private gardens.
